I have recently been taken off of mirtazapine a very sedative like antidepressant and thrown onto 75 mg of effexor xr.
I feel like I am on speed, and thus unable to eat or sleep. Not to mention being overwhelmed by incredible nervous/anxious tension.
Can anyone tell me if these side effects ever go away or at least get better? I don't want to stop taking the medication, but I am beginning to feel desperate!
Many thanks,
Aisslinn

>I too have anxiety on this medication but since being on it for two weeks my appetite is coming back etc...My doctor prescribed me xanax to take the edge off and it konks me out for hours where as I feel pretty alert on effexor alone...I am also on effexor xr,75 mgs..I am just waiting it out to see what happens with it.My main problem is shortness of breath,i.e.anxiety....
