Just wondering if you saw my post with the link to Walgreens' page for Desoxyn CR, and if you've gotten a chance to talk with your doctor about it. I'm sticking to the DextroStat, that much I'm pretty sure of, but I'd really like to hear an actual firsthand account of an experience with Desoxyn CR.

No, where's the link?
I'm aware of Desoxyn Gradumets, and that no generic exists on either Desoxyn IR or Grads, and that Grads were discontinued in 2000. I also only can get it at my Wallgreens, because CVS special orders it each time (rather than caring enough to buy a medicine I get each month, they'd rather lose me as a customer-- Wallgreens told me they'd have it "whenever I came back with a script for it."

I've really been wanting to hear how this stuff stacks up against the Gradumets. I've read some good things about it online, but a firsthand experience would be nice.

I've read some good things about it online, but a firsthand experience would be nice.I think it's an outdated reference to the Gradumets, considered Ovation Labs spent $40 million acquire the rights to Desoxyn (and not Gradumets) I doubt another company could afford the patent on the gradumets....
Desoxyn was patented in 1944.

Nope, look at the picture of the pills -- the imprint is different from Desoxyn IR. I even called up the pharmacy to check up on it, and they confirmed that they had them in stock.

What's the difference?

It's like Adderall or Dex w/o side-effects, for the most part. Think of it as a refined stimulant. Truly a masterpiece, IMHO.
Fewer peripherial effects, more central effects, better if you happen to have Excessive Daytime Sleepiness with your ADD... I liked it. Plus, it only lasts like 4 hours, so you feel in control and stuff.

Which side effects did it do away with, for you? I do have excessive daytime sleepiness, but I don't know if its because I have excessive nighttime wakefulness because of all the damn speed!
Curiously, my current med Concerta is the longest lasting of all and I fall asleep fairly easily. Gives me a headache, though.

You either sleep or don't sleep, b/c of stimulants. They do affect your sleeping waves, yes, but not to a point that would result in excessive daytime sleepiness.
I would see a sleep disorders clinic. They can order a PSG (sleep study) for you-- you could have apnea, or something else. In my case, I have an unexplainable condition-- everything has been ruled out, so it's called "Idiopathic Hypersomnolence." I'm on Xyrem, works wonders.
This is the end of the thread.
