To Pfinstegg

Hi Pfinstegg,

It's me again with more questions. I hope you're still doing well, are you?

Can you let me know the name of the residential motel that you stayed at when you had your rTMS treatment. I've got some names but the prices are a bit high so was wondering where you stayed.

Denise

Hi Denise! It's good to hear from you. Are you really going to Atlanta for the TMS? I have been trying for the last half hour to find my "TMS file", which has all that information in it, but so far haven't been able to.. The residential motel was on Peachtree Industrial Blvd., just inside the Atlanta beltway. I think it was called "Suburban Lodge". Dr. Hutto's office was just outside the beltway; it was about a five-ten minute drive, and so would be a 30 minute walk, probably. I got the name of the place from a form they sent me indicating various accomodations. Didn't you get one of those? I will keep looking, and send it to you as soon as I find it. That lodge is pretty basic, but the price was definitely right for 3 weeks of treatment.

I am doing well- thank you. The TMS kept me completely depression-free for about five months, but then a mild amount returned, for which I am taking Lexapro 10 mg.- that is working well, but if it weren't, I would definitely return for a short maintenance round of TMS. As you know, I think it is a very effective treatment- as good as ECT, but with no negative side-effects on memory. In fact, I have been feeling especially quick-witted since I had it, and recently saw an article in the NY Times about how it was being used at Yale, experimentally, to increase brain-power!

Be sure to keep me informed about what you do.

Hi Pfinstegg,

I thought I'd responded to this but somehow it didn't come through. I am still considering coming to Atlanta as I've tried everywhere else to no avail. I can't get on any of the trials here or in Germany and I can't believe how long these trials have been going on for, surely it shouldn't take years to establish whether or not something works.

Anyway thanks for your help, the centre did provide some info on residential motels but they were more expensive than the one you stayed at. I've tried enquiring about a Suburban Lodge in Georgia but so far can't seem to find anything so I'd really appreciate it if you do have any info on the place you stayed at.

I'm glad to hear you're still doing well, I haven't been two bad over the last few months (touch wood) but know I'm still not right.

Anyway let me know if you manage to find that file and I hope you continue to do well on the medication you're on.

Kind Regards

Denise

Hi Denise- thanks so much for your good wishes. The Suburban Lodge is at 2050 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. in Chamblee, Georgia- a suburb of Atlanta which is quite close to the center of the city. The phone is 770-234-9005. The cost when I was there last January was about $200 for seven days- so, if you decide on it, don't expect too much. It's OK, and you can cook a little there, but it IS pretty basic. Good luck!

Hi Pfinstegg,

Thanks for sending me the details, I've made a note of the lodge and I won't expect "The Ritz" as long as the treatment works and I feel safe there I'm not that bothered about the standard of accommodation.

Kind Regards......Denise
