Ok,Been on SSRI's for the past 7 years .. current one lexapro at 30mgs. It helps calm my thinking some but I still fall into this lethargic place where I don't want to move and have gained 50 pounds and anxiety and phobias are an issue. I need energy. and a little more boost. Welbutrin makes me too uptight becasue I have such anxiety problems.. any suggestions.. i need Some get up and go! without adding more anxiety! I'm in the pits and got to get out!

Thanks
Rainee

IMHO...(Just me)..I really think this Lexapro is just some marketing guru's dream. If you are still having problems with anxiety and lethargy after being on the drug for awhile, I'd say it is a pretty useless drug (atleast for you, anyways.) As I mentioned above to another poster, possibly trying small amounts of Prozac or Zoloft along with a benzo for the first 3-4 months may work very well.

Best wishes,
Jay

Rainee, How long have you been on Lexapro?? I agree with jay, if it hasn't been helping you, than it may not be the med for you. Topamax can have sedating properties, and can help some people with weight loss. Maybe a short-acting benzo will help you to get up and go without feeling too sedating while also helping with your anxiety
I'm trying to write this fast-hoping to get this advice to you b4 your doc appt.

Good luck!!
Gal

Is your major complaint of depression or anxiety? If it is anxiety, what anxiety disorder is it attributed to?

Hey I hope I am not too late. I have panic disorder with some agoraphobia. It was much worse several years ago when it began and I have since gotten to know the disorder quite well. I was on Paxil 20mg supplemented with adovan for the past 7 years and it was wonderful. Would go weeks not even thinking about panic. Until the end of last year it wore out and instead of upping the dose which might have been better, I have switched to Lex. I am a bit better but I attribute this to my Psychologist. I have taken 10mg for a minth and 15 mg for 1 night. I have noticed exhaustion, but not to extreme. I force myself to get out and be active for at least an hour a day. I also take my med at night which i think helps. I would be curious to know what you decide to do. Good luck.
