Despite some recent hold-ups in its phase III trials for Huntington's, a new drug called LAX-101, a more pure form of EPA (essential fatty acids), is nearing closer to market release in the next year or so. LAX-101 has been granted fast-track and orphan drug status by the FDA for use as a treatment for HD.
For those that have found benefits from taking flax seed or fish oil, LAX-101 might be a very important successor to EPA in your diet, since LAX-101 is to fish oil as vitamin C supplements are to oranges.
