Remeron update (for resistant depression)

Posted by Squiggles on May 25, 2003, at 7:40:13

Just in case anyone is wondering, now
in the 3rd or 4th week, the Remeron person
is doing very well. The adverse side effect so
far is a much greater appetite, but no
greater than lithium. Of all the drugs
so far, this one seems to have yielded
surprisingly good results. Excellent
sleep and no anxiety, less social anxiety,
after many years of suffering these demons.
The diagnosis again, is very severe, resistant,
unipolar depression with suicidal incidence.

I have read of some adverse long-term effects
but it is either too early to tell or this
person is not subject to them.

BTW, i have noticed that alcohol has a marked
effect - is it ok to drink a little? She
already has, without any bad effect, but i
have noticed a coincident irritability with
alcohol.

Thanks

Squiggles
