cannabis-- is this okay? i imagine it probably is because cannabis is okay with just about anything, but few things are okay with Parnate, so, i'd like to know. i hardly use this plant at all anymore, but i'd like to know if i'd be able to if i wanted to or not.
Also, the cheese avoidance thing-- does this mean i should avoid ANything with cheese? So i can't have cheeseburgers or mac. and cheese or any kind of meal with cheese in it? Anyone know?
Thanks.

You need an updated list of foods that are ok - many restrictions that were on the old lists have been lifted. Check out http://www.dr-bob.org/tips/maoi.html (Sorry i cant link you, im computer challenged) By all means, enjoy your cheeseburger (not cheddar burger, though) and mac and cheese of the Kraft type. Homemade might contain "real" cheddar. IMO, this list is still overly conservative, but best to be cautious. As for cannabis, i have no idea. I havent smoked any since it was called "grass" Is my age showing? Now go have a cheeseburger.

I've smoked while on Parnate, but it's not a good idea if done regularly. This has less to do with the Parnate, and more to do with the fact that pot can act as a depressant (yep, same as booze). So if you're taking any antidepressant, it sort of defeats the purpose. Take it from an ex-pothead, if you absolutely must do it, do it really rarely (and I mean REALLY).

I have taken parnate 40mg for 2 years.
The only severe reaction I had was to coffee, it landed me in the hospital due to fainting about 6 times in an hour. So, I limit coffee to 1 a day. I drink domestic beer about once a week (aproximately 6) with no problems. They say to not consume Guiness and other "strong flavoured beers". As far as cheese goes, I have never had a problem with the occaisonal pizza, however do not eat over-ripe cheese such as those stinky ones (cant remember names) Hope this helps somewhat!
