IMIPRAMINE VISION PROBLEMS?

Posted by Matt Miklos on May 13, 2003, at 21:56:04

I have been taking imipramine for several years and recently started losing my vision. My doctor thinks it may be from the long term use of imipramine. Has anyone heard of this?

I used to be on imipramine, and other tricyclics. They certainly affect vision short-term, while the drug is in your system. I haven't heard of the vision problems getting worse because of the length of time a person has been on imipramine. It could be, but I just haven't heard of that. However, the scientists don't know everything that these drugs do. Maybe you could switch to another drug? Preferably one that is NOT in the tricyclic class, because all tricyclics are notorious for causing blurry vision.
