Wondering if anyone knew of any studies backing up the purported ad effect of xanax. I have found it to have a mild ad effect on me and I am really looking forward to xanax xr. I can't do the daily xanax thing because the interdose anxiety usually causes depression.
I also have a question for you psychopharmacology wizzes--is there any reason why xanax would have an ad effect and the other benzos wouldn't???
Someone also told me that xanax was originally marketed as an AD. Anyone know if that is true?

yeah im sure there mustve been studies done, cos i can be feeling bloody awful, and my nerves like glass on a blackboard, but when i take a xanax, its like being wrapped up in a soothing velvety blanket(yeah i know i sound like an ad for it!).but its got to be doing something.in my limited knowledge on these things,i know it acts on the GABA receptors, not he usual suspects that A.D's act on.in MIMS,a medical journal, theyre listed under A.D's as well as being down as a trank.
