I'm just switching to Effexor xr from lexapro and will start with 75mg/day for one week while slowly cutting back on the lexapro.
I've been taking lexapro late in the afternoon as I found this worked best in not disturbing my sleep in the evening. Can I do the same with Effexor or should I take it in the morning?

I would think you would have to take the Effexor in the morning. It is MUCH more stimulating than lexapro and far more likely to cause insomnia. But of course, just try different times and see what works for you...best of luck.

I think it would depend on whether you find it (or other meds) activating or sedating. Myself? Very activating for me, so I take it in the morning. I also had found paxil very activating, too. But there are some people who have posted that it causes drowsiness for them.
Good luck.
