It varies with the manufacturer, but they are generally in gell-caps (clear) with green-brown powder. One clearly distinctive trait is the ODOR of the capsules, I mean they STINK! Anyway, it can help for minor sleep problems, and doesn't really have any side effects in normal dose range. I used it for several years until I was able to get a reliable script for benzos.
