I have been on lexapro for several months and really crashed last week. Doc pushed the lex up to 30 since this past friday I already feel a little better. How long will it take for me to see the full effects of the 30?

I think that although you would start to feel the effects in a couple of days, the full effects could take several weeks. I personally am doing very well on 20 mg of Lexapro. Hopefully you will do very well also on 30 mg.

I'm feeling much better I hope it lasts.. I was on prozac for so many years I think I have a tolerance built up to SSRIS. Hopefully the 30 will stick.. I hope you continue to feel well!

Sounds like you and I are in a similar situation. I am still taking Prozac at a lower dose 40 mgs, and taking 20 mg of Lexapro. I became resistant to Prozac after a while and had to stop and try something new. My doctor doesn't feel I can raise the Lex any more cause he is afraid of the Toxic syndrome. Like you, I am not responding as well as I used to to Prozac. It is like we have to jump start the meds again. If you had a good result on Prozac, you may want to try using both like I am. Keep us posted on your progress. -Dysfunk

Yeh crashed for me is depression hit me hard and I had very high anxiety and couldn't seem to get a grip on my own.

I never heard of mixing two SSRIs together.
I think I may have to add a mood stabilizer.

I was on Prozac and it stopped working as well as it was, so my doctor suggested adding in a new SSRI. I think this is the "new trend". They are discovering that the meds die out after a while and lose their effectiveness so the doctors are making "cocktails" or diff combos of meds to "jump start" the original drug. If you read the board you can see people's diff combos. Ask you dr!
