hello all,
My boyfriend has borderline personality disorder and is starting to get therapy, but he can only see his therapist once every 2 weeks, so it's not really helping all that much. I'm starting to wonder if he should take medication temporarily, until he can find a therapist who's actually good and can see him every week. I don't think borderlines are usually treated with drugs, but he needs SOMETHING--I mean, jesus, he keeps saying that he's a horrible person who doesn't "deserve" to get better and he's going to hurt himself seriously if this goes on much longer--and if therapy's not enough, then I don't see why he can't use medication.
So my question is, do y'all know of any medications that are good for reducing the symptoms of BPD? Does anyone here have BPD, and if so what medications have you taken? I'd welcome tips from anybody, but especially from people who are acquainted with this particular disease.

I have BPD..
The drug that has helped me most is Zyprexa (Onlanzipine).. this has really really reduced the bad thoughts, and has allowed me to concentrate on my therapy.
Good luck
Nikki
