Hey Everyone,
Over the weekend I got a prescription for ritalin 5mg tablets. A half a tablet seem be help alittle with motivation and mood ... the full tablet (5mg) was way too stimulanting and anxiogenic. After twelve hours after the 5mg ... I found that I feel great ... almost a rebound mood enhancement after all the anxiety and stress with the 5mgs during the day. Anyone every experience this?
Today I tried a quarter tablet ... that was smooth and helped with motivation and mood. Anyone helped by such a low dose.
Thanks.
Jumpy
PS I have major depression and severe panic disorder and a family history of bipolar disease ... still trying to find a replacement for nardil

Jumpy, when I was taking Ritalin or Focalin the effect never lasted more than three hours after a dose (no matter how big). It sounds like you experienced a mood elevation that comes secondary to anxiety-reduction. You might find dexedrine more tolerable and longer lasting. See if your pdoc can flip you to dex 2.5mg twice daily. I got tics (and worsened anxiety) on Adderall and Focalin, but not on dex.

30 lbs weight gain
sexual dysfunction
insomnia
leg swelling
memory difficulties... these ruined my life at age 30 ... difficult to work and date ... but so does depression, so I might be starting nardil again soon
