Hi Mary,
I actually tend to lose weight pretty rapidly on any benzodiazepine, Klonopin included. I always tended to overeat due to my anxiety, so naturally the great reduction in anxiety aided in my weight loss. Of course, this may only apply if you're taking it for anxiety. I've also always found a great increase in energy from Klonopin, Xanax, and Ativan, but a feeling of lethargy with Valium, Tranxene, and Paxipam.

Hi thanks for the quick response, i actually gained weight when i was taking xanax, and it stopped working for me, but the clonazepam has been great, i dont feel hungry at all, and i dont feel like i am on a rollercaoster ride like i did with the xanax. I just hope the clonazepam continue to work. It feels great to lose weight and not even have to diet. Thanks Mary

Ive been on Clonazepam for just shy of 2 years now. In the first year I was on it, I gained 15 pounds. For me however, this was a welcome side effect as I have always had a slim build and had the desire to gain weight, so it all worked out!

Funny how once you find a medication that truly works great for you, so many other problems end up just sort of 'resolving themselves'... even issues with weight gain/loss. Just a thought. :-)
