I was sleeping wonderfully on 15-60 mg of Nardil but am sleeping horribly on 75 mg. Has anyone else had a similar experience when their dosage was increased?

what do you mean by "sleeping horribly?" Difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, waking up too early? how long have you been on 75?

I've been on 75 mg for about 2 weeks; I can't seem to stay asleep and wake up countless times during the night.

Hi Merci,
Welcome.
I had the same experience with Nardil. Unfortunately the highest I could ever go was 45mg, and even that dose adversely affected my sleep in the same way you describe. My body could never adjust to a higher dose, even over time, so I basically stayed at 30mg, upped to 45mg premenstrually, and then down again. It might be better to add an adjunct (lamictal worked best for me, but there are a lot of options) than to continue to fight a losing battle against sleeplessness. The interesting thing was that no matter what time I went to bed, I would wake up exactly three hours later, then on and off the entire night. Couldn't live like that.
Take care,
Shelli

I take 90mg of Nardil and sleep fine.. at first I only slept 4-5 hours a night, then after a few weeks I slept 6 hours.. Now after about 3 months I sleep a good 7 hours..
Maybe you just have to get use to it more over the next few weeks and see if it improves?

ShelliR,
That sounds so familiar - I usually know what time it is without looking at the clock, as I, too, wake up after about 3 hours and then off and on during the night.
I haven't been able to talk to my doctor because he is out of town until my appointment next Friday; this didn't really seem like it warranted a phone call to the emergency doctor on call.
I have also been on 200 mg. of Lamictal for about 6 months; maybe it's time to augment with something else.
Thanks for the input; I'll have lots to talk about when my doctor gets back.Merci

Nick,
I hadn't really considered upping my dose; it seemed the logical thing to cut back from 75mg to 60mg, since I slept so well at 60mg. My doctor is out of town until my appointment on Friday, so his idea of logical may be quite different than mine.
Thanks for the response! I was feeling quite frustrated and it helps to have someone else remind me that I have options.Merci
