Remeron worked great in the past for me for sleep but I gained wt as I understand everyone does. Is there anyway around this problem, short of just not eating. And also, is all the weight gain from weight gain or could some be metabolic??

Not that I know of -- watching what you eat regardless of the drug's effective on your appetite and excersing -- but I don't know that that is sufficient to counteract what is going on "chemically" -- similar problem with Depakote -- and some other drugs out there.
Sorry I can't be more helpful ... perhaps someone has some advice or can point you in another direction. I have had seemingly endless conversations regarding this and the pdoc always admits it upfront.
Keep on moving forward -- we're all here ... just my 2sense

I gained 20 pounds on this med. and I don't gain weight that easily, but this medication has helped me SO much that those 20 pounds just don't seem that significant -- especially since it hasn't gone beyond that. My weight bumped up and then stayed there. I do have to be more conscious about what I eat and how much I'm exercising -- but those things are good for me anyways.
