What have people's experiences been with adderall and weight loss. I gained 50 pounds this year between celexa and risperdal. The combo works great but my pants don't fit no more! I was on wellbutrin for ADD but my doc has decided to switch me to adderall because the Wellbutrin wasn't really much of an improvement. He's also hoping the adderall will help me lose some of the weight I've put on.

Well, um, how come I never get the weight gain on any meds? I could use it, too.
I use every stim. I can definitely feel my metabolism go faster on it. I'm not sure if it affects my weight. You probably know that Adderall was actually called Obetrol back in the 60's, and then went off patent for 20 years until Shire bought the rights for it and made millions by re-labeling a diet drug as an ADD drug?
Oh well. I wish I could gain weight.
Well if you're lucky, you may lose about a 1/2 lb. to lb. a week if you get the metabolism affected in such a way, and you combine it with a diet and exercise regimen.
And I'm vegan, but I've always weighted the same, back when I ate animals, too. But there is a lot of data out there suggesting that the meat consumption increase coorelates with the obesity increase. LOL, Americans didn't enter an obesity epidemic within just a 20 year period by eating more "carbs".
Oh well. Anyway, the obese can teach us a lot. Mostly what to avoid. Ever enter a Burger King before? I did a couple of times for their veggie burgers, and it always appears to have a disproportionate amount of obese people. Geez, you'd think they would look around at each other and find the exit sign. : )
Good luck with your weight loss. You may also want to check out Desoxyn, since it's the only ADD med also approved for dieting. But Adderall's probably just as good.
This is the end of the thread.
