OK.. I've been on celexa for about 9 weeks now. I've bene dieting quite heavily for 6 weeks (800 cals and 8g fat a day - lost about 17lbs!!) with xenical, but I haven't bene taking much of that.
Anyway, for the past 4 weeks I've had terrible nausea. I constantly dry retch and gag. i sometimes bring something up if I've just eaten. My usual nausea tricks don't help (ginger tea, flat coke etc) as I just gag again within 5 mins.
I'm getting really fed up with this.
Any advice?
Nikki

I've experienced nausea on Celexa as well, although not as bad as in your case. I had some success with OTC motion sickness drugs (Dramamine). There are several types available. Watch out though, they can make you quite drowsy. I picked-up the "less-drowsy" formula Dramamine, but it still made me tired--as if Celexa wasn't doing a good enough job of producing constant fatigue on its own!

Thanks for all that..
I quit the xenical for 3 days and it didn't help... it just tends to hit in the middle fo the street and stuff and gagging into the road is sooo unatractive!!!
Thanks again for the advice :o)

I have this problem but for me it is related to anxiety. Whenever I'm anxious I get al gaggy and you're right, gagging into the street is not pretty! Have you ever had this problem before?

First, make sure you're not pregnant. I was quite nauseated during first trimester and not just in the morning, pretty much lived on club crackers and 7-Up for a couple of months.
If you're not pregnant, Dramamine or gingerroot capsules are good for nausea. If you don't have anything else, sip a glass of water with baking soda in it - directions on Arm & Hammer box.

Some tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs), especially Elavil (amitryptline), Sinequan (doxepin), and Surmontil (trimipramine) are extremely effective against severe chronic nasuea and other GI symptoms like IBS. You may want to try adding a low dose at night.
