I recently stopped taking Wellbutrin after only 3 weeks of use. Originally my doctor prescribed it so that I had help in quitting smoking. Wellbutrin is an antidepressant, and is the more cost efficient version of Zyban.
It did help w/ my physical cravings, however, I felt "dead" the entire time I was taking it. I suffered severe dissociation, and could not sleep. Prior to my taking it, I had insomnia anyway, related to anxiety attacks I was having. My doctor insisted that I was depressed-the truth is I'm not depressed-not emotionally. I do believe there is a chemical issue somewhere, but it's not depression. Last week the doctor gave me a one month supply of Celexa to try. I made the decision to stay completely off meds and find an alternative.
I'd like to know if anyone else has used Wellbutrin for a short period of time and experienced withdrawal? The dissociation left me almost immediately after a 48 hour period. However, I feel like I have a constant "sinus" headache, and the back of my head and neck are heavy a lot. Other than that, I've been feeling great.
This is the end of the thread.
