I'm just starting on DepakoteER for cycling/mood swings and would like to know what the therapeutic (*average*) so to speak, dose range is for this med? The info I've found on dosing gives ranges for Depakote's *official* use, not for the off-label psychiatric use. Thanks!

Hey, Depakote has ON label use for acute mania, so it at least has SOME psychiatric sanction...
Get blood levels; they are much mnore reliable than mg daily doses. For mood cycling, I'd recommend a blood level at least above 80, and maybe closer to 90.
