I would like to hear from anyone who has become sensitive to medication. I certainly have!

Certainly Yes!
After 3 years of use of SSRI, slowly i became more sentitive to theyr side effects.
So, at the end, i could not support them at all.
I can only support Sam-e, but that is another world ! (see many posts above on this stuff, if you like).
Bye

Yes. I don't think it has anything to do with Serzone, though. I think our bodies change. I used to be allergic to trees in my childhood and mushrooms in my young adulthood, but both those are gone. I developed an allergy to pennicillin in my 20s, and I took a sulfa antibiotic last year and was fine; this year, I took it and got hives. I also had a bad reaction to Tequin--gave me joint pain all through my body. I took three doses and couldn't walk. It was bad for two months and then went away.
Last time I had my eyes checked, my pupils stayed dialated for more than 24 hours!
I am definitely sensitive to some meds. Others, though, I have no problem with.
I think another factor is whether you work at home! If you have a lot of time to concentrate on every little ache and pain and thing that's not exactly right, you notice more than you would if you kept very busy. (I have done both, but now I work at home and know this to be true for me.)
Are you having super sensitivity lately? Or are you simply having some side effects? All drugs--even aspirin?

I seem to tolerate medicines better believe it or not (after 20+). I think it may be a self defense mechanism however (i.e. I am running out of options so my subconscious mind is trying to make them work).

No matter what med or combination of meds I take, they are only effective for a limited period of time.I seem to level out for a short period of time and then my extreme mood swings begin again. It seems that my body develops a tolerance or my body counteracts the beneficial effects of the meds. I have a wonderful Dr. who continually changes the meds in an effort to bring me to a stable condition, but we are both frustrated. Does anyone have the same problem?

Whoa, Hold on a second!
What is your diagnosis and what medicines have you been on that have been crapping out?
There are common themes for this happening; many times involving a crummy diagnosis and/or not testing the appropriate class of medicines.

John
