I started taking depakote and paxil in the beginning of August, and the main thing I've noticed is sedation. Besides that, I have ADD like symptoms, depression, flat/blah/ahedonia, irritability, deja vu and suicidal thoughts. I think it's helping with anxiety (because I can't think clearly enough to worry heh), but it's like trading in one set of problems/symptoms for another, and this seems to happen with all the meds I've been on. I feel kind of like I did on Serzone. I see my psych Oct. 15th and am wondering about a stimulant? I'm also wondering what the symptoms of liver damage are? I've seen some people posting about intolerance to SSRI's and I think that's more what's going on with me and not Bipolar, but what do I know. I wish I could speed up this trial and error process.

Maybe you can switch to the new Depakote ER formulation to minimize daytime sedation.

Thanks SalArmy4me, but I should have mentioned I am on Depakote ER.
This is the end of the thread.
