I have just been prescribed aurorix for panic attacks after having too many side effects from the SSRI's and effexor xr, can anybody let me know their experiences with this med and what side effects i can expect and is there any special diet to consider while taking it? Is it good for treating panic attacks, I'm currently on 20mg paxil but cant seem to stay awake on them.

Hi
I am on Paxil too (30 mg) and have also trouble with sedation. I believe its the most sedating SSRI...what did your doc say about this nasty side effect ? My doc considers to ad a stimulant than changing to another AD if Paxil is working at least for "50 %".> I have just been prescribed aurorix for panic attacks after having too many side effects from the SSRI's and effexor xr, can anybody let me know their experiences with this med and what side effects i can expect and is there any special diet to consider while taking it? I was put on manerix when I first started having panic attacks. It basically cured me and I had NO side effects whatsoever. After going off of it, I was med-free for almost 3 years. It was wonderful stuff. Alas, I tried to restart it again when the panic returned but it didn't work like it did before. Keep in mind it takes a good 8 weeks for it to work but it's worth the wait. I took 600mgs a day for awhile and then went down to 450 for maintenance. I say try it.
Let me know how it goes. I'm very interested in other experiences with it.
Good luck
Tina

I was on Moclobemide for a number of months (6) but had to abandon it when I started hyperventilating. I am still hyperventilating so it is possible that Moclobemide did not have anything to do with that symptom. My experience with it was that I felt it's effects within a few days--it is activating. It's a great med, if it works for you. Good luck

I am also interested in hearing more experiences with Manerix -- mainly, can it make you fatigued? That is my biggest problem with AD meds. (I've never been on MAOIs, only SSRIs.) My pdoc mentioned trying Manerix, but I've been too afraid of it!
Also, I live in the U.S., so it may be difficult to obtain -- any suggestions on how to acquire it?
Thank you! And thank you Jewel for starting this thread --
