Anti-anxiety meds and weight gain

Does anyone know of any anti-anxiety meds out there that are not associated with weight gain? What are the downsides of those meds?

It amazes me how many people have had trouble with weight gain on Effexor, for example. I have been on it for more than 5 years and I've lost weight, gained weight, lost it again, etc. All having to do with what I was, or wasn't, feeding my face with! LOL I guess it really IS individual, which is why it's so hard to say that Effexor will, or won't, cause another person any weight gain. It didn't have any effect on my weight at all. Hope that helps

Benzodiazepines may be less likely to cause weight gain than other anxiolytics. They give some people the munchies, though.
