How quickly/slowly should one titrate up (increase dosage) on SSRI? I started slowly with Effexor, with 37.5 mg for a whole week, then faster (4 days) to 75 mg, then 2 days to 112.5, then the "full" 150. Was this too fast? Is there a "proper" protocol for gradually upping the dose of an SSRI? My doc had me go up rapidly on Celexa and I had no problem (well, that one didn't work!) but no intense side effects with the increases.
With Effexor, I lasted only that one day on 150 mg. It was so bad, I had to call the doc and she had me back down to 75, where I've been and nothing's happening. It's not working.
So, I'm wondering what people might know about dosing schedules for starting an SSRI. Thanks.
