Posted by debbie r.c. on June 20, 2001, at 2:19:02

has anyone ever taken paxil and sam-e together? i don't
know if it is safe and if it feels o.k. i just went through
withdrawals from getting off of effexor and i feel so mean!
i wanted to see if the sam-e might help with that. does anyone
know? i have been a total witch and i am just not myself!
if anyone could help with any of these items, i would very
much appreciate it! thank you and i hope you are all doing
well soon!!!

FWI, paxil works pretty quickly. Ca. 7 days for me to notice
some physical response.
If I were in your shoes I might ask the pdoc for something to help
calm you a bit or help you until the paxil kicks in a bit more.
The period following withdrawal and beginning an SSRI is probably not
a good time to take an inadequately understood substance, especially
since there is no guarantee of dosage or purity.
I've seen posts that contain strategies for dealing with AD withdrawal
have you had a look?
Feel better soon,
S.
