California group, if we lived back east, we would all be in different states! I'm in Southern California...Temecula. Now San Luis Obispo is pretty, but Livermore! Ukk! (no offense). So far we have one northern Ca, one Mid, and one southern! And, why does Dr. Bob think we would need a referee? Hmm. Jennifer

I live in San Diego and have family in Temecula. I also love San Luis Obispo and points north. Morro Bay is one of my favorites. I wouldn't mind a weekend drive up there. Let me know what all you Calif. people decide.

Sure, sometimes these meetings are held there, too. Let's see, the psychology APA will be there in 2003, the psychiatry APA in 2006. Hmm, that's kind of a long time from now...

Greg,
I'm with you as far as the Dallas Cowboys are concerned. And I'm not wild about Dallas either. Actually, I was kidding, because I'm far too ashamed of my house and how I keep it to let anyone in. I'd have to shoot you in the back as you left to keep you quiet -- not really!

The dogs do not bite. They will hover over you (my Collie especially loves guy strokes), slobber on you (the Collie again), jump up when you get up because you might be going into the kitchen for food (they don't get human food/hand fed), then they will stand in front of you patiently--allowing you to pet them if you want, and reluctantly turning away as you say move, move, move, move, move, move.

As you come up to the deck, they will eagerly await you on the stairs, so you have to say move, move, move, move, move. And Lamar, the collie, had to learn to climb stairs so he doesn't know whether to go up or down, so you have to stand there while he makes up his mind.

I adopted both as adults, and they are wonderful companions. Shadow, my black lab, is about 7 or 8, and Lamar is about 5-6. Shadow has her Canine Good Citizen certification. Lamar tried his best in doggie training, but was always car sick going to and from, and not feeling well during.

At any rate, I think a get-together would be a lot of fun, except that I would be such a disappointment to myself and everyone else.

Shar

Shar,

Shame on you for that last comment! You are one of the most kind, considerate and compassionate people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. It would be my honor to meet you someday! Now, no more of that talk, OK? Remember, we share a common bond and don't take each other's inventories.

It's funny, but when you were talking about how your dogs acted, I couldn't help but think how similar it was to my kids.....hmmmmm.

I hope your day is going well and I was really sorry to hear about the job. I know you did your best and recognized that it wasn't a good situation for you. That shows that you are taking good care of yourself. The right job will come along and you'll know when it does. Trust in yourself!

BIG ((((HUGS)))),

Greg,
I think the best way to reply to your note is with sarcasm...it's my style tonight!
Ok, it's "beautiful". I concede to your adjective. It's just not the one I would choose. And wineries? You call those "wineries"? I don't recall our fine wine section carrying any "Livermore" brands lately. I could look for Concannon, Murieta's Well, or the ever popular Livermore Valley Cellars brands, but doubt I'll find them. I'm sure I'm more likely to find Callaway Vineyards, Thorton, Hart, etc. Last time I was in Napa, they had all of ours in their stores. Plus, Murrieta Wells...where did THAT name come from? Could it be Murrieta Hot Springs...a whole 5 minutes from my house?!! Hmmm?
OK, Ok...Livermore is beautiful, and actually very similar to Temecula. (Except you're way too liberal up there!) We're both 45 minutes from major cities, and mid-way between beaches and mountains. Tons of engineering types in both places...both cities are kind of just "out there" when you're driving down a highway. You're right. Livermore is fine. If there's a California meeting, I vote your house. Hope you've got plenty of room. PS: I'm allergic to cats and dogs!
Hope you enjoyed this one...it's 3:20am, can you tell? Jennifer

Hi, ya'll:

Even tho I won't be there, I am retentive enough to want to remind people that August 5 is sort of just around the corner.

Is it time for someone to step forward and find out the best time/place to meet? Some PB's can only make it certain times/days.

It will probably need to go back and forth between Dr. Bob and PB's before everything is set, and sometimes "back and forth" can take longer than expected.

I want to go on and on, but I will stop. It's not really my business anyway!

That's 3 including me. So is the party on?

Saturday I'm tied up at the meeting from 1 to 6. Then I'll probably have dinner with the friends I'm staying with. So the options that day would be either before 1 or possibly after our workshop and before dinner...

And Jennifer, the comment about Livermore being a good place because I live there moved you very high up on my list of favorite people. Compliments will get you everywhere....

Greg,
Thank YOU for the compliment! As far as getting together, I could really get just about anywhere with my new conversion van! Little did my husband know that my anniversary present would make me leave for sights unknown (or perhaps he did!) Seriously, if California people want to meet, I would be interested, but I don't know how likely it would be that I could attend. I will be out of town the last half of August, then school starts (I homeschool). Plus it seems like I've had a neverending number of MD appts trying to figure out what's going on. If it worked out, I would definetly come...probably leave my kids with friends with family in the Bay Area, then extend the trip to make it "educational". Don't schedule around me, but keep me posted, and I'll let you know if it will work. Thanks for becoming our "official" group gatherer! Hugs, Jennifer
PS: I'm 6-7 hrs away by car, so don't exclude those in Reno etc. They would be just as likely to join in.

Hi Brenda and Jen, (that's what I call my daughter, hope you don't mind)

I think San Luis Obispo would be great, it's a beautiful place with lots of things to do. August is a very rough month for me too. I have company picnics, my company is moving to a new building, my wife's best friend is getting married and I have to help a friend move. Whew!!! Maybe September would be better for the get-together, maybe a weekend so the home schooling and docs appts wouldn't be interrupted. I think it's a great idea to invite people from outside the area! I think I'll start a new post on this and see who's interested in coming, what do you think?

Anybody from out of the area interested in attending please let me know.

Have a great weekend!

Hugs,
Greg
