Hi! I just started Effexor two days ago and am also on 37.5 mg. In a week I'm going up to 75 mg. I was on Zoloft for several months. That took a really long time to work, worked for about a month, then stopped working altogether. Right now I am feeling pretty good, but as you said, kind of tired and dizzy. Do you have panic disorder? What else have you been on? I hope Effexor will work for you. Let me know how you're doing. Angel

HI ANGEL, I DO HAVE PANIC DISORDER BUT ACCORDING TO THE LAST PSYCHDOC IT WAS A PART OF PTSD. ALL I KNOWD IS HAT IV'E HAD ANXIETY FOR A LONG TIME AND IG I THINK ABOUT IT I CAN TRACE IT WAY BACK. I DIDNT TRY ZOLOFT FOR THAT LONG BECAUSE AT THE TIME I WAS WORKING AND THE INITIAL SIDE AFFECTS FOR ME WERE TOO STRONG. I HAD PREVIOUS;Y BEEN ON PAXIL SO I RETURNED TO THAT. PAXIL REALLY DIDNT DO ANYTHING FOR ME. SO A DR. SUGGESTED TAKING PAXIL W/IMIPRAMINE WHICH WORKED FOR AWHILE. BEFORE THAT I HAD TRIED PROZAC, IMIPRMINE BY ITSELF, PAMALOR, SOMETHING THAT STARTED WITH AN E AND A COUPLE OF OTHERS. I GUESS WHAT THE WHOLE PLAN IS WITH ANTIDEPRESSANTS IS TO FIND ONE THAT WILL DO EVERYTHING. KNOCK OUT THE DEPRESSION THAT GOES ALONG W/PANIC. FOR ME I USUALLY EXPERINCE SOME SORT OF SIDE EFFECT SO THEY THROW IN KLONOPIN WHICH IS FINE BUT I WISH THEY COULD COME UP W/SOMTHING THAT WOULD ELIMINATE THE NEED FOR MULTI-MEDS. I'M SURE THAT WHEN I GO BACK TO THE DR. HE MIGHT SUGGEST SOMETHING ELSE BUT HOPEFULLY THE EFFEXOR WILL WORK PRETTY WELL. I'M SUPPOSED TO GO UP TO 75MG ON WED. AND THEN 150 A WEEK AFTER THAT. ANYWAY,LET ME KNOW HOW YOU'RE DOING W/IT. MAYBE THIS IS THE ONE.
This is the end of the thread.
