My Dr. thinks that i should try going off zyprexa to see how I do without it. I'm scared, that i'll ended up like i did in sept. not sleeping & very sucidal.I gain so much weight on this med. that i should stop it. I don't want to be like this anymore always sad, scared of people, being paranoid all the time.
I been lying to my Dr. telling him how good i've been doing,I get mad at myself for doing so but him & everyone else seem happier not seeing me always down in the dumps.I feel like I'm putting on a show,Then go off stage & brake down and cry.I don't know if I should stop,or should the show go on?

Kelly - You have to fess up to your doctor. He/she should know how you feel to be able to treat you properly. Write it down on paper and take it to your doc at the next appointment. If you don't think that you could do it, have a family member or friend tell him/her for you. It sounds like the Zyprexa is not working that well for you. You may need a dosage increase or maybe even a trial on another medication, but your doctor cannot guess this if you don't tell him/her. Good luck - Cam W.

Kelly, I agree, it would be better to be honest with your doctor. How can you build a good, open, honest relationship with a doctor if you aren't truthful.
It isn't your job to protect him or others from the reality of how you feel. Your job is to do your best and be honest with him, and see if he can work with you to help.
Maybe you didn't want to admit to yourself you weren't feeling as good as everyone thought. I am familiar with that scenario myself.
Take care. Keep in touch.

Good luck - Cam W.I do think that the zyprexa should be higher but when i started at 5mg it made me sleep alote, and at 2.5mg I'm still kinded out of it.Is there some other meds that would help me w/ my paranoid thinking? My psychiatrist died in jan. & I still haven't found a new one,I'm seeing a psychologist.
So when my insurs. says it's ok I'll make a appiontment.
thank you both
