Been out of town and BROKE MY COMPUTER! WAAAHHH!!

Yes, that's right, I managed to break my computer. Yeah, that's right, I am a computer professional, you wanna make something of it? Argh!

I was at loose ends, waiting for a call to be returned, and figured while I was waiting, I'd reload one of the operating systems on my multi-boot machine. Well, that's all well and good, but I wasn't paying enough attention, wiped out my Windows partition (which I usually use for the web), and screwed up my master boot record. As a result, the only OS which is working right now is Linux, which won't recognize my modem, so I can't do much of anything there. The only place I can check email, etc is at work, but I'm leaving this place, moving about 100 miles away, and as a result hardly have a chance to check in anywhere.

The holidays were OK, overall. I had that epiphany: I like myself better than I like some of my relatives, despite their "success", and I need to learn not to get so defensive when they say things like, "Well, why don't you get some new clothes?" Gee, am I nothing more than the clothes on my back? None of you have ever complained!

So, thanks for thinking of me, wish me luck, and I'll be online again soon, with any luck!!!

It's so nice to find that you asked about me. Makes me smile!

Hi, Racer, thanks for checking in.

BTW, the public library is a great place to go online. I used it while on vacation.

good to know you're fine. How's the guy (if you want to share it with us)? You sound good, and I'm sure you're looking fine too. Janice.
