Hi Ya!
What you were cook? That is awesome. I love to cook. A few times a month my boyfriend and I will get some really good meat, like nice filet or some ahi tuna steaks, he can grill like nobody's bussiness and I am in charge of sides, my claim to fame was that I made mac and cheese that took like 4 bowls...hahaha what an accomplishment right? We get some wine and cook together and it is pretty close to my idea of heaven (God of Godiva excluding, haha).
I envy you being able to stick to the with the atkins thing. That is very admirable. I after that one day I was crying and yelling at everyone. I am sure it would have gone away after getting over the inital with draw but I just hate that weird chemical feeling which was a big part of my depression. I really can think of few things I have felt which have caused me more greif.
I am pretty happy on WW, I lost the weight and kept it off for a year but then when I was depressed I dropped down to a size 0. It was not attractive...I think woman should have curves, softness and some muscle. Im totally not into the "oh my gosh, I haven't eaten in 6 years, aren't I fabulous?" look. So then I tried to eat and the weight would not come on. Soooo then the depression started to lift and the lexapro dosage went up, as did my weight. I would like to blame it on the lex but I am sure it was my doing. Now I size 4s are getting a little tight, I like to be a solid 4.
Stevia sounds pretty good. mmm coco and coconut sounds great to me. You should get your cute chefs out and make something that everyone in the world will want... you will become famous and I can say, I knew you when..haha
Talk to you soon!
PS. I love your name, what does it mean? What is your origin? I am Russian.

Lexy, I have been away and just got back to reading the posts. Sorry that the Atkins plan got you so yucky. I got that way too during the first week. It was very difficult but it did go away. But of course you must do what is best for you and I wish you the best of luck on WW. I have lost weight with that plan too but found it too hard to stick with. You really have to keep track of everything you eat and I am just not into that. For all the critics out there who say that eating sugar again after Atkins causes you to gain weight again fast.. it has not been the case for me. I occassionally cheat and I have not gained a pound back. Everyone is different. The weight loss battle continues...Mrs. C

hi Mystic,
does the EMDR work for you? Or maybe I should ask, how & what does the EMDR do for you? I saw a therapist who was really "into" it but I never pursued it, even though she recommended it.

Hope you didn't have nightmares & that the session was more help than harm. :)
Take care!

Mystic, ask the Dr if you can overlap the two meds. In otherwords, ask him if you could start the Wellbutrin at a lower dose (150mg) and maybe drop to 10mg of Lex (not sure how much you are on now), and then work your way down on Lex until you are off of it. They are in different families, and I don't think it would be a problem. I am just thinking that it could soften the withdrawal from a SSRI. I don't want you to go through that if you don't have to. I also think the Lex may ease the "antsy" feeling of starting the Wellbutrin. Something to think about... And please consider using at least a little of the Xanax to help you through this if you need it. If you can't do that, you could try Benedryl. It is an allergy med, but it's active ingredient is used as a non-addictive sleep aid. Even just one would calm the "rough edges" during high-anxiety times.

Keep us informed.

Hi Mystic,

I'm doing well. Thanks for always caring.

Actually, my doctor had me stop Lex (at 30mg) the same day as I started Wellbutrin (150mg). It was survivable. I felt great during the first day - just a little antsy, but I also felt great all night long (insomnia). The sleep deprivation started to get to me after a couple of days, but that subsided soon. But I think a little overlap of the two drugs would have taken the edge off adjusting to the Wellbutrin.

My Lexapro experience is very similar to yours, but maybe even a little worse.

Let us know what you are going to do and how you are feeling.

Simus

Yes, I am in the same place. I promise, this is the year of reckoning...I am going to form a plan of action if things don't work out this year. The new principal is really cool, but there is one bad thing already...

183 students enrolled for 6 teachers..30+kids per class..ALREADY. several kids wont come or enroll until after the tenth day down here for some reason. Also, 60 of those kids have IEPs.

> Simus ...sorry to bother you again all part of my med phobia worrying..and questions please bare with me...

No problem at all. Hope I can help.

> You are doing good on the Wellburtrin?

I am doing well. Compared to where I want to be, maybe only 90%. But so, so, so much better than the Lexapro days.

> how long has it been?

I started around January/February of this year.

> and was your problem anxiety/depression my emphasis is on the anxiety..

Depression since around 8 years old, anxiety to the point of panic attacks around 12 years.

> I forget everything on the lex...

I did too.

> and my periods before during and after were horrible...

Lex really messed up my hormones. I had regular periods my whole life up until Lex. But I am still waiting for that to normalize.

> how long have you been on the wellbutrin and how soon did you come off the lex after starting the wellbutrin...

I stopped 30mg Lex and started 150mg Wellbutrin on the same day.

> I was going to try to totally ween off the lex before starting but listening to you I think you have some good points...If I'm able to take 2 meds at the same time wahhh...

If you can do ANYTHING to avoid SSRI withdrawal symptoms, do it.

> did you take the xanax at the same time you were having the agitation from the wellbutrin..??

Yes, but I only take Xanax at bedtime to sleep at night. Switching really wasn't that bad of an experience. I have really been through it with the meds, and this wasn't nearly as bad as some of my experiences.

> ..sorry about all the questions but i know that you understand...Thanks this will be it..Your friend Heidi

No problem. I just want you to finally find something that makes you feel better. It hurts to see you suffering so much.

Your friend,

Simus
