What I know about these drugs IMHO could change your life. Let us go on about this drug that themanufcturers call Pristiq. In order to undertsnad the chemistry of this drug I need a whole lot of time and space. Mr. Hsiung's 3-consecutive post rule here can stop me from posting unless another after my 3 posts ,posts.
But let's go on as far as we can here. First, there is a chemical called piperidine. It is found in pepper plants and other places but cn be synthesized. Poison Hemlock has it in it and is used as a poison. This chemical can be found in many psychotropic drugs. Then there is phenethylamine, which comes from a mushroom that is found in many psychotropic drugs, but can be synthesized.
Then there are those chemicals from coal-tar. The chemical used in mass-muder that I described here came from coal-tar.
Now chemists couls put these together in different proportions and get psychoactive chemicals, rat poison, dyes, insecticides, worm-killers and such. And then there is fluoride which is in Sarin nerve gas and prozac and paxil and celexa and Luvox and lexapro and other drugs.
Now looking at the coal tars, I would like for you to do a search on {phenol}. Wikipedia could be a good one. Then I could tell you the rest what I know about this drug, it's comparison to the old drug and who made it.

My Mother slathered coal tar all over her body during the 50's and 60's as that was all that was available for total body psoriasis and that's not a mental disorder. I took paxil it worked well as well as Laney did for a great number of years. Do you eat meat? I don't the hormones, recalls daily from FDA on foods. So no food is safe either. I think it is ironic that you should disseminate propaganda and disinformation when talking about the murder of Jews. Effexor was not invented by Wyeth Labs until the 1980s. Pristiq came later.
Please be more careful about the things you present as fact.
I request that you not change the subject line of every post you reply to.

Your depiction of phenol is flawed. The phenol molecule might be toxic (which is actually a good thing, as phenol is used as an antiseptic), but many of the compounds phenol is incorporated into are not.
For instance, did you know that phenol is a critical ingredient in the body's manufacturing of monoamine neurotransmitters? These include serotonin / dopamine / adrenaline / noradrenaline.
It is the pure phenol molecule that was used as a lethal injection, not phenolic compounds.
Phenol is our friend, not our enemy.

Can you be more specific as to what you would like to know about Pristiq?
Pristiq is the daughter molecule of Effexor.
Effexor is actually converted into Pristiq in the body.
Question: Has Lou Pilder scared you with regard to the chemistry and history of Pristiq or any other drug?

Now phenol AKA carbolic acid, when in the body can be poisonous. Now phenol is a building block of soe psychoctive compunds that I intend to show you what psychotropic drugs have those compounds in theit chemical make up.
Be advised that there are numerouus prohibitions made to me here by Mr. Hsiung that could cloud my responses and it could take a lot of space and time to develop what I would like for you to know.
Now if we look at another drug, I could have the opportunity to show you what I intend for you to know concerning the "old" drug that I have mentioned. First, I would like to look at {thalidomine}. I will show you where this drug came from, what the chemical make up is, and then show you what could be unbeknownst to you in relation to the topic at hand.
But first let me say that not all people will {feel} supported by what I write here, but the TOS here states that not all people will feel supported here. My understanding of support is not the same as {reinforcement}. If you are looking for reinforcement, there are others to look to for that, for I am here to save lives and offer to those that would like a way to overcome depression and addiction that may not be your way.
I intend to let you know things and go on, unless the rule of 3 applies

Have you studied chemistry in a university setting?
I have.
What little I know about chemistry indicates to me that your explanations have no scientific bases, and, in fact, are refuted by today's understandings of biochemistry.
Perhaps you could find your way to throwing in a citation here that endorses your portrayal of all phenolic compounds acting as molecular phenol.
Drinking too much pure water can lead to death, by the way.

now going on, thalidomide is in this discussion and you could wonder what this is about. Well, the knowledge that I want to share with you involves thalidomide in relation to SARIN.
You see, sarin is nerve agenet used in mass-murder. But what does that have to do with thalidomide, you could ask? And how can this all be related to this discussion?
Well, I will go on to explain that unless the rule of 3 applies.

Yeah, I can understand. Paxil isn't exactly one of the easier ones to get off of. Not as bad as effexor or cymbalta though.
Not sure what you meant by putting cymbalta in the title because the post itself has no mention of it. My personal opinion is it is a junk med and I have hardly ever seen anyone say great things about their experience with it. Maybe it works great for someone, I'm sure it does, but.
Have you added nortriptyline to your paxil? Have you added desipramine to it? Have you added savella to it? (popular combo in Japan) I would not even consider switching to a different med until those combos had been tried first.

Scott,
No Lou didn't cause me to think twice about anything actually. I just have always had this thing about trying effexor because of the horrific w/d's I've had with paxil thus the reason I'm still on 10mg. I mean I don't need that kind of hell in my life for sure. Cymbalta is the same drug isn't it?
I just don't think I want to mess with anything that is nortorious for severe withdrawl. Been there. Done that.
What are Pristiq w/d's likely to be like? Looks like Cymbalta w/d's are really bad like effexor.
But no, not to affend you Lou, but I try not to read your posts at all.
Thanks,

If you look at my subject line it rolls down into the first line of the body of my text. Basically, doesn't cymbalta have the same w/d problems attached to it as effexor??

You wrote,[..But no, not to offend you Lou, but I try not to read your posts at all...].
And you also wrote,[...the horrific withdrawal I have had with Paxil...I don't need that kind of hell in my life...].
There is a way out so that you do not have to take Paxil anymore, if you are taking it only to keep you from going into thhe withdrawal state.
Now in this thread, there is a lot of knowledge that I have not posted about yet that IMHO could offer one a way to have a new mind. A new mind, not like the one that has chemicals in it that alter one's mind, but a new mind that transcends drugs, goes beyoud psychology/psychiatry and sees a whole new world of light amd peace that never ends.
And one could return to the green fields. They could return to where rivers used to run. They could return to the love that they used to know.

Now I would like to introduce to you two items in the exposition here that go to what will be revealed.
The first is the pharmaceutical co. named Grunenthal GmbH. The second is a man whose name is in my subject lines here in this thread. This may also give you a clue on my code here. If you do not see his name, it is Otto Ambros.
Now Otto was a doctorate chemist that I will post more about here, unless the rule of 3 applies.

Hi Laney.
Effexor, Pristiq, and Cymbalta are all capable of producing severe withdrawal effects upon discontinuation. As you can see, though, the severity of the symptoms is variable between individuals. Some people have a relatively mild reaction. Of course, if one of these drugs works well, there may be no need to worry about withdrawal.
How bad is your depression right now? What other drugs are you interested in? Are you sure you want to treat your depression with medication? Have you tried psychotherapy?

How about adding some lithium? Maybe 300 to 600 mg?
Laney, have you tried all the SSRIs?
I think you might be able to get off Paxil using low dose Prozac and Depakote.

Grunenthal invented thalidomide but I don't think that's relevant to Laney right now. Although it may be interesting, she doesn't need the history of the German pharmaceutical industry :)
Anyway Lou, you are probably already aware that Grunenthal's most successful drug of recent decades is the pain reliever, tramadol (Ultram, Zydol, Tramal). Grunenthal invented tramadol and sell it in many countries although I believe they sold they rights to Ortho-McNeil for the US market.

You wrote,[...Grunenthal invented thalidomide...she doesn't need the history of the German pharmaceutical industry..Gruenthal invented Tramadol...].
There is evidence now that Gruenthal did not invent Thalidomide. You see, what I am showing in this exposition is something that IMHO could give rise to understanding that may be unbeknownst to some. And when the facts are discoverd, I think that could help people to make a more informed opinion as to take a drug or not. That decision then could save a life IMHO or prevent a life-ruining condition that the drug has the potential to inflict upon the taker of the drug and not to mention that the drug has the potential to induce a mind-alterd state to compel the taker of the drug to kill themselves or/and others.
This is all because of the connection between Sarin, thalidomide, and the opiad you cited here. And then Otto, the war-criminal, fits in also.
You see, the case in point is about Effexor or the synthetic version, Pristiq.
I intend to reveal what the "old" drug was as I go on, unless the rule of 3 applies.

Now we have a master chemist, Otto Ambros, a convivted war-criminal. He worked for I.G. Farben. And after he was let out of prison, he worked for other chemical companies. You see, this all is involved with phenol, I.G. Farben, thalidomide, Gruenthal, Sarin, and the rest that I have introduced here in this exposition. This is all because of the drug Effexor /Pristiiq as being in a want for information by a member here.
Now it is very complicated for me to trace what Otto Ambros did in his laboratory. But I have studied deep into this and the member's question concerning Effexor/Pristiq has great merit here for enlightenment about these mind-altering drugs.
Here is an article about Otto Ambros

This is all because of the drug Effexor /Pristiiq as being in a want for information by a member here.
> Now it is very complicated for me to trace what Otto Ambros did in his laboratory. But I have studied deep into this and the member's question concerning Effexor/Pristiq has great merit here for enlightenment about these mind-altering drugs.

Now I ask you to make a determination on your own as to if you want to have this chemical in your system if you are looking for the drug to get you out of depression. Then I intend to continue to expose the issues at hand here to you so that (redacted by respondent), unless the rule of 3 applies.
